Ziza Fernandes
was born in Paraná, Brazil, where she grew up. Her interest
for the arts awakened at a very early age, a talent inherited by her
father.
Since she was very little, she began to study the piano, and ended up discovering a special way of communicating with God, expressing it through music. In her adolescence she began to attend camps and retreats with the movement Evangelization 2000, participating in them as a musician. In 1995 to 1998 she studied Music therapy in Curitiba-PR. While she studied, in 1995, Ziza recorded her first Compact disc titled "Mais que os pássaros" (More than the birds). The missionary work intensified, and in 1999 she recorded her second CD "Volta pra casa" (Back home) with the well-known label in Brazil founded by the Pauline religious order: Paulinas - COMEP. That year, she and other five youths founded a community of alliance called "Mãe da Ternura" (Mother of tenderness). In the year 2000, Ziza Fernandes released her first production in Spanish, titled "Cantaré" (I will sing), thus tending the needs of her constantly increasing Latin American-Spanish audience. In June of 2001, Ziza produced another CD with Paulinas - COMEP titled "Bem Simples" (So simple). Moreover, in November of the same year, she participated in the international tour "Enredados" in Mexico, along with Latin American/Spanish Catholic music icons such as Martín Valverde, Eugênio Jorge, Daniel Poli, Migueli, etc. This tour was repeated in Brazil in may 2000 and again in September 2003. The labels Producciones Dynamis and Paulinas released "Enredados - la gira" (Enmeshed - the tour) in double compact disc produced from the live recordings done during the tour in Mexico. In 2002, Ziza released, through her own label-"Madreterna Produções" (Tender Mother Productions), which is now owned by the community "Mãe da Ternura",- a thematic CD of songs for prayer titled "Meu Tudo" (My Everything). Now she is presenting her audiences with her latest production, the CD "Essência" (Essence), also produced by Paulinas - COMEP and released in December 2003. |
